Hell, while you're at it why don't you suggest a toggle for elite armours and weapons skins? All it is is pointless grind right? And why don't we just add in a toggle for everyone's in game achievements?

No one spams zrank to look leet, and why on earth are you even argueing with a guy that spams his tiger to prove a point?

Agh, I don't even know why I come back to threads like these -.-

-_- PvP titles are there as achievements, if you can toggle them off how is that fair on the people who work for them, just like you work for your PvE stuff.

Sorry but we're talking here about emotes, not the title itself.

Although is a very good idea to just toggle off all titles.

And even though titles are for self-achievement, the emote this day represents elitism and jerks who think too high of themselves for having it.

If it required at least 0.5 skill like Gladiator or Champion then it'd be ok. But no, they added the emote to the biggest PvP grind in the game.

It's just a little golden circle...and I think that it was there since the beginning of the game...

As for titles, you have to put your mouse over the person's name...

I'm sure ANet would make heaps of money off the players who get butthurt when they get ranked.

Other than that, this is a pretty stupid idea. If you can't take people gloating, stay out of competitive play, or take being ranked less seriously.

The OP was talking about people flashing there Emotes in PvE. These people ARE staying out of competitive play and still getting ranked.

There was 1 guy awhile bac that would go into PvE area and call everyone there PvE scrubs and rank everyone with his Bambi of all things.(Probably JUST got it) But do people in PvE really care or need to see PvP emotes? Dont think so.

Read the latter of my post, then. I just threw that in for whoever is going to complain about in in PvP outposts.

Even in PvE, you shouldn't get butthurt over an emote. In the end, it's an emote. If someone is ranking you trying to act big in a PvE outpost, you should laugh, not get angry. I mean really,if you get offended by an emote, you need to get out more often, and take stupid shit like this a lot less seriously.

Even though ANet would make money from this, do you really think they're going to take time out of developing GW2 to please the easily offended by letting people block seeing a pointless, stupid emote? It's a waste of time.

Just earned my Bambi 10 minutes ago, didn't realize it was so offensive to people.

Why not just disable those emotes out of PvP?

I don't mind people using the Hero or Zaishen rank emotes in PvP, but when they spam them around in festivals it's annoying.

Amendment 28 of the U.S Constitution:

No person shall feel offended no longer an emote is flahed, wherever and whenever. This right protects all citizens from an emote being flashed at them. Under no circumstances may an emote be flashed.

I like the idea of chucking emotes completely (although it will never happen, for fear of butthurt among bambi-spammers and Zchest grinders), but toggling titles? I'm sorry, that's just stupid.

If someone makes an achievement, they deserve to be able to show it off to those who care enough to hover their cursors over their name. It's not like they're walking up to you and PM-ing "AY LOOK AT MAH TITLE!!!!11!!2!" like they're basically doing when they spam their stupid tiger.

Not to mention, almost every title in the game can be either bought or piggy-backed with a friendly guild. So titles in general really shouldn't mean anything to you.

If displaying titles offends you, you've got another thing to worry about.

No... I think this is a horrible idea. I mean, it's just an emote. If it bothers you, too bad. I don't have any /rank or /zrank emotes (not that I care, really), but if I'm "ranked" (or whatever), then I wouldn't really give a red engine.

As for toggling titles...

Oh, I'm sorry. Did my R10 Sunspear title offend you?! Oh, what about my Protector of Tyria title? Or even my Protector of Cantha?! Then don't have my name highlighted. Problem solved. I simply ignore them myself. *rolleyes*

And the reason people want to chuck the emotes is because they are butthurt pve players.

I dont get upset about it. I DO laugh at them but I still think its pointless to rank people in PvE like they care. Like you said it makes them feel big which is only way they can is in a game.

First of all, did you even read the rest of my post? You can buy those titles.

Second of all, make no mistake, I'm not offended in any way when someone just flashes their tiger once or twice to show it off. That's fine. It's when people use it to try to prove that they're better players, which they are not necessarily (I don't think anyone's stupid enough to argue that having a fancy emote DOES prove them to be a better player) that it gets annoying.

So the best way I can think to solve this problem is to just get rid of emotes. They're tacky, and don't help anyone with anything other than waving their e-peen at random people in outposts for no reason whatsoever, or for reasons unrelated. If you can think of a better way of solving this problem, or one that won't simply make it worse (like adding PvE emotes), I'm all ears.

Butthurt? No.
Annoyed? Guilty as charged.

Censoring an insult doesn't make it any less offensive. If I say to someone "go **** yourself", the message isn't changed by the place of a few stars.

Exactly, it's pointless. If it's so pointless, why do you care that people do it? It's barely a minor annoyance, that's all. Suck it up.
